Congratulations to the Badin Boys Volleyball Team … Division II state champions for 2022!

The Rams were honored in a celebration at Badin’s Mulcahey Gym on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. after their 3-1 victory over Dayton Carroll in the state finals at Pickerington Central High School on Sunday, June 5.

The boys volleyball title represents Badin’s first boys team state championship since the school’s baseball team won the 1996 Division II crown.

The state boys’ volleyball title capped off a 2021-22 year of unprecedented success on the athletic fields for Badin:

  • A state championship in boys volleyball
  • A state runner-up in football; state semifinals in baseball
  • Individual trips to state events in boys and girls cross country, swimming, wrestling, boys indoor track and boys outdoor track
  • Elite 8 berths in girls soccer, girls volleyball and girls basketball

“Every season was outstanding,” Badin Athletic Director Geoff Melzer said. “We were celebrating teams and recognizing individuals all year. It was an outstanding senior class. And it’s very true that success on the playing fields translates into a positive daily vibe in the hallways.”
