What do you want to be when you grow up? ? Exactly what I am today! This was never the plan...but so much better than any of the plans I ever had for myself! :)
Who inspires you and why? My mom. She is the most selfless person I know. Always pouring in to me, my brothers, her grandkids, extended family, strangers. It's pretty empowering when you know without a doubt you will always have someone in your corner to walk through life on your side, pick you up when you fail and speak truth in to your life.
What led you to this career? My career began in nursing. I am a Certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner and have experience in OB, women's health and nursing education. After three babies, I took time away from nursing, with the intent that I would eventually go back. God had a different plan for my life. In 2017, I took on ownership of the most amazing fitness community in town-Cornerstone Fitness. I have a killer team of coaches who lead the fitness part of our business. While fitness is a huge part of my life, my real passion is nutrition. At the end of last year, we decided to open another branch of our company that focuses on nutrition coaching for people. It has exploded overnight because of real need for these services.
Favorite Quote? "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone." Neale Donald Walsch and "Be the change you wish to see in the world." Mahatma Gandhi
What is one thing that you learned while at Badin that you still use and value today? At Badin, I learned to grow roots in faith. As I've grown up, I find the more I lean into my relationship with God, the more He moves mountains in my life and allows me to help others do the same. I also learned the importance of having a strong sense of community in your life. I believe we were designed to grow and thrive in community. Flying solo in life doesn't get you to the same places that having community around you does. I need people to push me toward growth and wrap me in love and support.
Is there anything in particular that you'd like to share about what you do? I hope to empower people to take control of their health. In a world that is very confused about what real health and nutrition look like, we start to navigate that together. The quality of your health is a pretty big determinant of the quality of your life. We meet people right where they are...and help them to live the life they were meant to live. I want people to know that they are stronger and more capable than they ever imagined!
