Profe Oliver. I had the privilege of having her as a teacher my freshman year for H Spanish III and she has helped me so much throughout my 4 years at Badin. She supported my love of Spanish and always lifted my spirits on difficult days. Going to Europe this past summer was amazing and she definitely made the experience ten times better. Thanks to her, I hope to continue learning Spanish in the future.
Favorite event/experience at Badin:
Planning and executing my Senior Service Project. Seeing the kids and residents reading their letters and establishing social connections was truly impactful and amazing.

Favorite Badin teacher:
My favorite teacher is Mrs. Breetz, my biology and physiology teacher at Badin, because she intensified my interest in genetics by introducing me to electrophoresis, CRISPR, and the ethical approach to DNA alteration. Also, she has been a role model and supporter since my first day at Badin. She continues to encourage me every day, not only in class but throughout all life experiences.
Favorite event/experience at Badin:
My Summer in Solidarity trip made a huge impact on the projection of my life. Since that experience, I have known that I want to continue my service involvement throughout college and pursue a career that can positively impact the world.

My favorite part of my Badin experience has been the relationships I have made with both my teachers and my peers.

Favorite Badin teacher:
My favorite Badin teacher is Mr. Smith. He has taught six of my classes at Badin, and I have had him all four years. Because of this, he and our class have become closer than we have with any other teachers. He helps us with all kinds of things, whether it be a challenging topic in Calculus or a difficult text we have to discuss for English Literature. He teaches physics and engineering and though they can be complicated at times, he is very patient and helps us through it. He makes sure to emphasize that we are smarter than we think and that we can do things that we may think that we cannot. Overall, Mr. Smith has had a major positive impact on my Badin experience, and I am thankful that he works here.

Kairos, specifically June Kairos, was a lot of fun for me as it was a unique and rewarding experience.

Favorite part of your high school experience:
My experiences with service have by far been my favorite part of Badin. Attending service trips to South Dakota, Ecuador, and Alabama taught me so much about myself and how we can work towards bettering our small corner of the world. I have met so many incredible people through service and am so grateful for the relationships and connections this has led to in my life. I can't imagine my four years at Badin without service.

Mrs. Breetz is one of my favorite teachers at Badin because she cares just as much about each individual student as she does science. She is so passionate about all that she teaches, and every class I've taken with her has been incredible! I had never genuinely enjoyed a science class until I had Mrs. Breetz for the first time freshman year.

AP Biology was my favorite class at Badin. I took it this year, and it's pushed me to grow as a lifetime learner.
Favorite Badin teacher:
For me, it's a three-way tie between Mrs. Breetz, Mrs. Long, and Mrs. Keating. Mrs. Breetz has taught me everything I know about biology and helped me find my future. Mrs. Long has taught me what it means to have a gentle soul and try to always be a better person. Mrs. Keating has taught me responsibility and helped me implement it into my life. There is no favorite between them, they're all my favorite.
Favorite event/experience at Badin:
Going on June Kairos has made the largest impact on me. I can't say much, but it's the place I think I've become the best version of myself, allowing me to grow exponentially in a short amount of time.

Mrs. Heinrich (aka the Boss Lady)! Up until my sophomore year, science was my least favorite class because I found the content we learned as repetitive and honestly, quite boring. However, Mrs. Heinrich engendered a newfound appreciation and passion for science within me. She always created a fun atmosphere of learning and somehow managed to explain the most complex of chemistry topics with her random jokes and analogies about dating.

Favorite part of your high school experience:
My favorite part of my Badin experience was attending and leading Kairos. I attended Kairos in June of 2024 and led the January Kairos earlier this year. Kairos was such an amazing experience and I built so many friendships with people on both retreats. Those two retreats were probably the best eight days of my high school career and I’m so grateful for being apart of them.

My favorite Badin class has been Physiology and Anatomy
Favorite Badin teacher:
My favorite Badin teacher is Mrs. Breetz. Mrs. Breetz has helped me find my love for science and health, leading me in the direction of hopefully becoming a doctor. She also has such positive and motivating energy in class that helps me stay determined to succeed. Not only is she an amazing teacher, but she has taught me so many important life lessons such as having gratitude, and my favorite quote from a ‘Motivational Monday,’ "nothing in life ever gets easier, you learn how to handle hard better."
Favorite event/experience at Badin:
A Badin experience that has had an impact on me was the two service trips I attended in Ecuador. These two trips really changed my perception of service and life as a whole. I learned how to live life more simply and gained immense gratitude for everyone around me.

Kairos and Summer in Solidarity trips to Bethlehem Farm/Quito Ecuador. All of these events gave me the opportunity to grow really close with others and made a profound impact on my life. I'm very grateful to Badin for those opportunities.

Mr. Seitz, he made learning the things in his class interesting and more engaging than simply sitting in a seat and listening to lectures. He helped to introduce me to one of my favorite hobbies, that being D&D. Finally, he helped me to know what I want to be when I grow up, though not directly, but by showing me that I love learning about history and the government, which the law is the perfect mixture of.
