Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering at Badin High School can be a fun and rewarding experience. There are many opportunities and events, both day and night, where you can help. Listed below are the different areas/events where your talent and time can be used.

Spirit Shop/Bookstore

Volunteers are needed to work in the Spirit Shop during the school day Monday-Friday, and some weekend days. No experience is necessary. The Catham Club is currently looking for one or more people interested in taking over the organization of the Spirit Shop for the upcoming year. If you are interested or would like to know what is involved in this, contact John Toerner.

Library

Volunteers are needed to help staff the Resource Center throughout the school day. You will supervise students in the library and media center, and help them to check-out books and make photocopies. Development Office

Volunteers are needed at various times throughout the year to assist with mailings, photo copies, event set-up, etc. Contact person: Kelli Kurtz, development director, at (513) 863-3993 ext. 123, or email: kkurtz@rampride.org

Celebration Auction

This event is held in the spring each year at Badin High School, but volunteer opportunities start as early as September. Many volunteers are needed to continue to make this evening one of Badin’s most successful fundraising efforts. Volunteers are needed in the following areas:

  • Chair/Co-chair a committee
  • Catalog (write copy, data entry, edit catalog, distribute catalog)
  • Check-out (process bid sheets and invoices, cash out guests)
  • Clean-up (help with clean-up the day after the auction)
  • Donor solicitation (visit your local business establishment and collect donations to be auctioned at the Celebration)
  • Gift pick-up (gather donated items from area businesses in your area of town or wherever needed)
  • Decorations (assist with making the decorations and setting up)
  • Donor follow-up (make follow-up calls to area businesses after solicitation letters have been sent)
  • Gift Gathering Party (host a party at your house or BHS to help gather donations that will be auctioned off at the Celebration)
  • Invitations/Registration (help address invitations and take reservations. Check guests in the night of the auction)
  • Food (assist the caterer with food prep/serving the night of the auction)
  • Games (assist with the various games and raffle booths the night of the auction)
  • Table Captain (be a table host the evening of the auction)
  • Sponsorship (follow-up with area businesses that have been sent letters requesting sponsorship)
  • Set-up (Gentlemen welcome! Many are needed to set-up)
  • Booth workers (the night of the auction, for a two-hour shift or for the entire evening)
  • Volunteers (help recruit other volunteers to help that evening)

Tuition Raffle

Volunteers are needed to count money and tickets on turn-in days, and to also sit on the raffle committee. Contact person: Carla Fiehrer at (513) 863-3907 or email: cjf@cinci.rr.com
