In May 2000, Badin High School launched the most extensive fundraising effort in the school’s history. Our goal was to raise more than $3,000,000 to renovate our aging facility, improve our curriculum and to expand our academic and extracurricular offerings.
By June 2004, we had raised more than $2.2 million towards our goal and had completed all of our priorities—with one exception. Plans called for construction of an activity center to house an auxiliary gym, new weight room, performing arts pace and general school storage. However, we lacked the funding to complete this project. That is, until one family stepped forward to make our dream a reality.
The Frank ’69 and Joanne Lepera Pfirman ’72 Family made the largest donation in Badin history when they announced they would fund construction of a 28,000 sq. ft. activity center for Badin High School.
The Pfirman gift provides funding for construction of the building’s shell. Through the generosity of many other friends of Badin and of Frank and Joanne Pfirman, we have received gifts to complete the east wing of the building including the lobby and auxiliary gymnasium.
A new fundraising effort was launched in January 2005 to raise an additional $1 million to complete the west wing of the activity center. The west wing will include the Terry Malone Weight Room and Fitness Center, a new wrestling room, a music education room, a new locker room and a training room for athletes.
The Pfirman Family Activity Center was fully operational in October, 2006.
We still need your help to complete this facility and give
Badin students state-of-the-art facilities! Please take a few minutes
