• What is the “Celebration”? - The "Celebration" is a charity auction featuring live and silent auctions, dinner and an opportunity to enrich each of our children’s lives by raising more than $105,000 for Badin High School’s scholarship, athletic, and music programs.

• What is a Gift Gathering Party? – This is where the help and generosity of parents is needed to insure our auction is a success. Parents of the sports teams are asked to donate items for the auction. These items will be used in the live and silent auction and in Chinese baskets.

• What is the value of the gift we are asking parents to donate? - We ask that all donations have a minimum retail value of $20 - $25. If the you get the item on sale, we say “good bargain shopping!!!” The item will be listed in the catalog at the retail value not the sale price. Donations can be big or small and are limited only to the donor’s imagination.

• What if a someone prefers to donate cash instead of an item? - Cash donations are accepted. Cash donations will be used to purchase the items for auction. Also, this year we are accepting credit cards (Visa or MasterCard) for cash donations, but there is a minimum $25.00 donation to charge. Information needed for Credit Card donations is on the Cash Donor Form. You can retrieve this form from our Gift Gathering Party Chair.

• Who is responsible for purchasing items with cash donations? - If the host of the gift gathering party would like to shop, they are more than welcome to do so. (Please keep in mind, a donation form needs to be filled out for each individual cash donation.) If you would prefer not to do the shopping, a member of the auction committee will be more than happy to do the shopping for you.

• When are donations due? - To meet the deadlines of our catalog, we ask that all donations be delivered to the Badin Development Office by February 7th. I also think it is best not to have parties from Thanksgiving to the first of the year. Everyone is much too busy getting ready for the holidays.

• Where do we have our party? - Gift gathering parties can be in your home, at a restaurant or in the school. If you choose to have your party at the school, please contact Jane Schlichter at (513) 863-3993 ext. 116 to arrange the details.

• What donations are tax deductible? – All donations are tax deductible, cash and items. A thank you letter will be sent to each donor for their records.
