History of History Club |
The history club is an after-school club that meets every
other Wednesday in October until the end of the school
year.
Faculty Moderator of History Club- Charles Mignery
President of History Club 2007/2008- Dan Karwis
Trip Coordinator- Paul Zimmerman
Purpose- Our Club serves as an extension of the Social
Studies courses currently being offered at our school.
The history club gives students an opportunity to
expand their knowledge and explore the many different
avenues of history that the classroom environment
sometimes cannot offer. We intend to make history
more enjoyable and interesting through round table
discussion groups, debates, historical activities, and
field trips when applicable.
In the history club, we discuss history of course, and we
also try to find history in the community. We try to setup
restoration of any historical burial grounds and graveyards.
Every year at the end of the year, we go on a trip that we
have been planning all
year to a place such as Memphis,
Tennessee.
You have to be a junior or senior to be in
History club.
During the End of One school year to the beginning of a
another one is the time where we try to get together
and fossil hunt. Mr. Mignery has some excellent locations.
This year we are going to be setting up Veteran's Day and
President's Day activities at the school.
