Student Handbook
CAFETERIA
Conduct
All food is to be eaten in the cafeteria. Students are encouraged to say private prayer before and after meals. The ordinary rules of etiquette should be observed. This means talking in a subdued voice, cleaning up the table when the meal is finished, disposing of paper in receptacles, recycling cans, etc. All students must be seated at a table during lunch. Students are to be courteous and orderly on the way to the cafeteria, in the cafeteria, and moving from the cafeteria. During the lunch period students are not permitted above the bottom floor except to use the restrooms. Students are not permitted beyond the gates on the bottom floor nor in the parking lot. Demerits will be issued to students who violate cafeteria rules.
Kitchen Help Program
In order to function properly, the cafeteria needs two volunteers daily from 11:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. One member of each family works two days per student for 2 3/4 hours or pays a yearly fee to cover the cost of substitute workers who will be paid. Parents who work will be given a free lunch. Ms. Cynthia Robinson coordinates the Kitchen Help Program. She schedules the days parents choose to work. Call her at 863-3993, Ext. 110, to reserve your days.
If you are unable to work the two days, you can send your check for $25 to Badin High School, made payable to BHS - Kitchen Help. At the beginning of the second semester, statements will be sent out to families who have not worked, signed to work, or sent in their money. Further information is provided in the August newsletter.
Menu
The cafeteria serves an a la carte menu (choice of main dishes, salads, sandwiches, desserts, and drinks). Prices for the various items are posted at each cafeteria service line. A weekly menu will be posted.
STUDENTS WILL NO LONGER BE PERMITTED TO CHARGE THEIR LUNCH.
Senior Privileges
Seniors have "cut" privileges in the far (golf course) cafeteria line only. Seniors may use the picnic tables outside the golf course entrance during lunch periods only. These are privileges, and will be withdrawn if abused.
