JSA

JSA is Badin’s student run statesmanship and debate organization. Through weekly meetings, weekend conferences and national conventions JSA serves as a national, non-partisan organization dedicated to the promotion of democracy. Every week we choose a current issue and go in depth, debating the pros and cons of proposals with a level tone and an open mind. Several times a year we collaborate with other chapters for either a day long or full weekend convention where we examine the issues of our day with youth from every walk of life and part of the country. JSA is completely student run and maintains mock Congress and State governments.. We debate in three primary ways: Traditional, Speed Chess, and Oxford; but no matter the style, all speakers are students who have taken time out of their week to research and ponder the matter at hand.
