Badin A.M.P.
Athletes Making Progress

AMP is an organization made up of student athletes who have made a commitment to abstain from the use of alcohol and drugs and encourages our fellow athletes and students to do so as well.

Goals: For each athletic and academic school year are as follows:

1. To encourage athletic captains to fulfill their leadership role in keeping their teams drug and alcohol free.

2. To work with the administration to keep the student body drug and alcohol free.

3. To join forces with other organizations in hopes of strengthening Badin High School's drug and alcohol policies.

Since the focus of this group is to abstain from alcohol and drug use, it is of vital importance that members of AMP set a positive model for other students. There will be no tolerance of underage drinking, drug use or any other kind of behavior that reflects poorly on the school or the group.

AMP members highly recommend that incoming freshman and other underclassmen look into joining one of these fine clubs:

Ambassadors: a program through which students can give back to the school. They help out with various events, especially informing 8th grade students and parents of the academics and community of Badin.

National Honor Society: is open to juniors and seniors who qualify with scholarship, leadership, service, and character, and a GPA of 3.5 or higher. A faculty council selects students for membership. Members must participate in service projects, fundraising, and tutoring through Peer Counseling program.

Art Club: is moderated by Mrs. Palmer and Mrs. Sage, who also serve as the school's art teachers. Meetings are generally after school, and 80% of them must be participated in to attend field trips as such as Cincinnati Art Museum and Cincinnati Symphony.

DECA: stand for Distributive Education Clubs of America. It is a class for juniors and seniors to learn more about marketing, and commerce.

The Drama Club : is open to any grade. Meetings are one Wednesday a month after school in room 110. At these meetings, they play drama and writing games. They also make signs advertising Badin Drama's productions, and make locker signs for student performers. Drama club also goes on field trips throughout the year.

TAG: is a volunteer organization geared toward service to the community and to the school.

Spirit Club: is a good way to get involved. They motivate students participating in sports without cheerleaders by making signs, etc.
