Tim Nichting '78
Tim Nichting was an outstanding baseball player at Badin High School whose ability as both a player and a coach continues well beyond the halls of BHS.
Nichting was the starting catcher for the Rams for three years, and also played football. His baseball prowess earned the attention of Xavier University, and he was the starting catcher for the Musketeers for three seasons while earning a bachelor's degree in Information Systems.
That led him to be drafted by the Montreal Expos, where he played Class A ball in Jamestown, N.Y. Once his playing days were behind him, Little League managing came next - either with his father, Ray, or with his own teams. In 26 years in West Side Little League, his teams have won 10 district titles, eight state crowns, and three regional championships.
Nichting was the assistant coach for teams that reached the Little League World Series in 1991 and 1993, and the head coach of the team that went in 2007. That latter success had him named the Hamilton Citizen of the Year by the Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce and the Journal News.
Tim is the father of three children - Tony Nichting '02, Natalie Nichting '03 and current freshman TJ. Nichting. His mother, Carmella, is a graduate of Notre Dame High and Tim has four siblings who are also Badin grads. He is a computer programmer for Cincinnati Financial Corp. in Fairfield.
