Mark Maus '79
As good as the Badin High School
baseball program was over the years,
head coach Mark Maus directed the
squad to unprecedented success in
his 11 years at the helm.
A four-year athlete at Badin in
basketball and baseball, Mark had
coaching stints at various levels in
both sports at BHS, including boys
and girls basketball.
But it was his baseball teams that
soared. After a number of years as an
assistant, Mark took over and guided
constant winners ... including the
Division III state baseball champs
in 1991 and the Division II state
champs in 1996. His teams went to the state Final Four in 1993 and
again in 1999, and were regional finalists in 1994.
It was Maus who made the memorable comment about Badin
baseball, "There are those who talk about state championships. We
win them."
Mark's baseball teams started an incredible run of Greater
Catholic League championships for Badin that has now reached 17
in a row.
Mark is part of a longstanding family name that has made a
major contribution to Badin High School over the years. He is the
Course Superintendent at Potter Park Golf Course in Hamilton.
He and his late wife, Susan '79, are the parents of four children:
Drew '05, Matt '06, Katie '11, and Reid '14.
