Legacy Family Award
The Family of Bill and Elaine McCaughey
Bill and Elaine McCaughey were natives of New England. Bill was a graduate
of Providence College and Boston University Law School. In 1961, they and their
small family of six children transplanted to Hamilton from Walpole, Mass. They were
lifetime members of St. Peter in Chains parish; Bill was active in the Parish Finance
Committee.
Bill was employed by the Ohio Casualty Group as Vice President and General
Manager. Elaine was the matriarch of the family and never met a stranger. They both
passed away much too early; Bill at the age of 53 in 1981 and Elaine at the age of 76
in 2007. Those of us who knew Bill and Elaine can attest they left this world in much
better shape than they entered it. We were honored to be their friends.
Bill & Elaine McCaughey proudly had 14 children & 5 grandchildren graduate
from Badin High School. They recognized the importance of the quality academics
associated with a Catholic education and the continued spiritual growth of their
children and grandchildren.
