Dear friends -
Welcome to the 2009 Badin-Hamilton-Catholic-Notre Dame Hall of
Fame induction event. We're glad that you have taken the opportunity to
join us in recognizing another outstanding class of inductees.
During my years as a sports writer and sports editor of the
JournalNews from 1979-1993, it was always my pleasure to cover the
Rams - a tremendously successful athletic program with a lot of class.
Tonight, we salute more of the people who have helped create this legacy
of honor.
Athletics is just one facet of the many positive things that go on here
at Badin High School, but we certainly take pride in the fact that our
athletic program is a winner each and every year. When you compete,
you compete to win, and we are proud of our athletic success.
We have a lot of nice things at Badin High School, but in the end, a
school is all about people, and the people - administration, faculty, staff
and students - make this an excellent place to be.
Thank you for everything you do for Badin - for your support, both
in inspiration and dollars, and for keeping Badin in your prayers. The
Badin Community encompasses a legacy of greatness, and we truly
appreciate your continued backing.
If in your busy schedule you would take a moment to drop us a line
nominating someone for the Hall of Fame, that would be very helpful. A
lot of good athletes have come through these doors over the years. Who
among them deserves induction into the Hall of Fame?
Thank you for coming tonight. If you have any questions, comments
or ideas, don't hesitate to let us hear from you.
All the best -
Dirk Q. Allen
Director of Admissions and Media Relations
Hall of Fame Chair
PS – Thanks, too, to our Master Of Ceremonies, Bill Hogan '70,
who continues to make this trip every chance he gets. That the athletic
director at Seattle University makes it a point to be here each year is
truly a blessing for this event.
